in Cutting tax
hi all,
I'm registered as a self employed person and also in full time employment. I recently received a copy of the P11D from where I work in fulltime, which has expenses due to work related travel etc.
#1 I understand that I need to use these figures on my tax return, my question is will I be taxed for those? how does that work?
#2 I also got paid some extra for the extra work I did for the company, which will be shown in next years P11D, and I got paid after tax etc deducted. So would I be taxed further for this?
many thanks..

Expenses necessarily incurred in your employment can be claimed against anything your employer paid in expenses, things like hotel bills, using your own car etc.
Extra pay would normally go on your payslip, P11D is for Benefits and expenses payments, not wages, so I think you need to clarify what they are doing.
If you have already been taxed correctly on it, you would not have any more to pay.0 -
