'Do you have a joint bank account?' poll discussion

Was married with joint accounts and separate ISA's.
Never argued over money.
OH cleaned the account out.0 -
I've found this discussion really quite interesting, and useful.
I had a joint account with an ex, he was useless with money so we had account for household bills, rent and holiday spending, it didn't help in the slightest as he still always ran out of money and didn't manage his finances.
I now live with my wonderful boyfriend and we have separate accounts
and it works perfectly, he controls his outgoings and I control mine, we split everything and the money he earns is his and mine is mine, we have a tally up every now and again if one has paid for more meals out or anything similar, difference being we do have an Amex card which we both use for fuel and food shopping and then we pay it off in full at the end if the month, splitting the total.
It definitely works for us!0 -

Moneywise, has he sorted himself out, or is he long gone ?0 -
No joint bank account - I wouldn't want to spoil his credit rating!
Works for us.
