Feeding 4 for £25 per week

Options
Hi I am 19 and house share with my boyfriend his brother and his brothers gf

We are really low on money as I am a carer, the gf a student and the bf's in very low paid jobs. I cook everyday and I am very good and aslong as there is a recipe online i can follow it.

I need 6 main meals for 4 people and 4 packed lunch ideas for 3 people

I know it can be done as I have been doing it for a few weeks, just looking for new cheap meal ideas

Thanks

Hmmm for £25 a think you'll be going veggie but there is this student recipe site which might give you some inspiration and of course Weezl's site for feeding 4 on £100.

  • Im not too good on packed lunchs as mine just take the usual sarnies, crisps, fruit, choc bar and yoghurts.

Meals that use mincemeat as the base is always a winner, so things like spag bol, chilli, cottage pie, mince with onions, gravy and mash, keema curry.

If you havnt already got one try and invest in a slow cooker, i would be lost without mine. Allows you to buy cheaper cuts of meat and cooks them to taste better than expensive ones. So could do stews with stewing steak, aload of veggies, some oxos, herbs and water. Casseroles, curries etc. I even buy a cheap basic joint and put it into my slow cooker for sunday lunch and the meat falls away.

Jacket pots, sausage with mash and beans, pasta bakes, omlettes with salad. Pitta bread pizzas, meals on toast, mac and cheese.
