Botox Fillers - the best money I ever spent

Options
I thought long and hard about having Botox and Fillers, my husband was dead set against me doing it, however, I turned 50 a few months ago, can’t seem to stick to a diet (lol) so thought I am going to treat myself.

It was the best money I have ever spent, I had 2 lots of Botox (frown lines and around the eyes) and fillers (from nose to lips)

It did not hurt, very small bruise, but, the results look great.

If you are still thinking about it, just do it, it will make you feel so much better about getting older.

Any questions please feel free to PM

Best money you've ever spent? Clearly you've never had the pleasure of a coffee machine that grinds the beans for you. Enjoy spending it all over again in a year's time when it's all fallen out, won't you?

    Why so bitter Angelil?
I'm quite interested to hear about the filler / botox experience!
Is a coffee bean grinder really a great buy or was that a touch of sarcasm?

Thank OP, I'm interested too:) I've been following the other botox/filler thread, I love reading stuff like this thats one of the reasons I hang around the beauty board;)

  • I agree with the OP. I've been having Botox injections about 3 times a year for the past 11 years. I'm turning 50 next year and most people think I'm about 40. :D It costs £225 a time from one of the top doctors in London (much cheaper than some of the cosmetic companies). Despite my pleas for more, he refuses to overdo the injections, so the look is very natural and not frozen like some of the American people you see. I'm a baby, so find it a little painful but I use numbing cream first and it only last a few minutes. PM me if you want the name of my doctor.

I'm afraid I'm far too much of a coward to have the fillers unless I could be knocked out first.

I don't spend money on other beauty treatments so this is my little indulgence. Oh and the other big help with anti-ageing is to use Retin-A cream. You can only get it on perscription. Get the lowest dose possible in cream, not gel, form and use it very sparingly at first until your skin is used to it.

I'm not bitter at all; I just don't "get" people who feel the need to have these procedures, particularly given (as I said) that it runs out in such a short time, meaning that the procedure has to be repeated. Seems more like a waste of money to me.

As for my own experience, I'm only 25 so don't have any *direct* experience. I was, however, approached by a company a couple of years ago about their alternative to Botox, which injects pig collagen instead of Botox. You'd still never catch me even having that done (as on top of all my other objections to Botox I also hate needles!) but after researching the article there is no way I would ever let something as toxic as Botox anywhere near my face. See here: http://biancasbeautyblog.blogspot.com/2009/07/cosmetics-contemplations-are-days-of.html

And no, I really meant it about the coffee machine! At €300 it was definitely an expensive machine but it's much cheaper long-term to have a machine that grinds the beans for you (and a machine where you can choose the brand of beans rather than just being tied to one) rather than having to buy those pods for things like Nespresso machines.

I kind of agree with angelil. For me, memorable life experiences (eg holidays) are a more worthwhile of spending my extra cash. I don't expect to look back when I'm in my 70's and think ' I wish my face had been flatter'

To each their own though. I'm glad you are pleased with the results OP!

But the OP is telling us about a beauty treatment they have had that they are pleased with, its a beauty board, they are not asking to be analysed, most people have said the best money I ever spent to emphasise something they are pleased with.

That explains it. I was much more anti-cosmetic surgery when I was young than I am now :)

I know i want to have this done (need it lol) and like to read 'honest' opinions on here be they good or bad, i'd like to thank the op for taking the time to post, i think it's now just the 'cost' stopping me, i don't mind paying for something that might make me feel better when i look in the mirror, it's just a slow process saving as other things always seem to come up!!
    Kat :money:
