Am I been scammed / hacked?

I have a mortgage with northern rock.

I logged into my halifax account (used for savings only)and was amazed to see a mortgage showing up. I called up the helpdesk and they confirmed it was a northern rock mortgage.

What the hell is it doing with the halifax though ? If norther rock 'sold' my mortgage onto halifax arent they under some duty to tell me ?

Looks very dodgy.

Sounds a bit weird to me.

    What does it actually say?

Is this on the main accounts screen with the savings accounts?

Did you ask the killer question ... "What's it doing there"?

    Very strange.

Also seems odd as normally with halifax you have to add new accounts on manually to view them in online banking AFAIK

it appeared just under the saving account.

I asked the girl about it and she knew the account number (from a different bank) that I use to pay the mortgage each month.

Also the outstanding balance looks about right although i cant check as northern rock dont allow you to login on sundays for some reason.

If it is genuine I find it amazing that it could all have been done without telling me. Surely there must be some fsa rules ?

So what was Halifax's explanation for your NR mortgage appearing in your list of Halifax accounts on their on-line system?

ok quick update. Northern Rock knew nothing about it and are denying selling or transferring any of their mortgages to halifax.

Now on hold with halifax to see what they have to say.
