can anyone help i have a remortgage going through tomorrow with hsbc, the mortgage got drawn down on friday for £93.093 but i have since paid £1000 wich was also on friday by direct debit (monthly payment with overpay) so i only owe 92,247 to my old lender (halifax) so was wondering if the differance will be credited to me or will they just hopefully correct the amount at the hsbc~??

Chances are the redemption figure given to your solicitor excluded the payment you've just made. The solicitor should have told you the basis of the redemption figure and advised you not to make any further payments after a certain date. Ask the solicitor what the assumed last payment was.
The completion figure can't be amended without the issue of a new offer, so you're going to have to ask your old lender to return it directly to you.
Alternatively, you could explain to your bank and ask them to reclaim the funds under the direct debit guarantee.I am a mortgage broker.
