Hi
I'm looking to save money on my weekly shopping bill like everyone else:) I want to do a weekly shop in farmfoods and was wondering what foods to buy and to avoid. Is their meat and fish any good? I don't usually buy frozen meat so am not sure what the quality would be like. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Kitchen towel 2 for 2 (used to be a pack for a pound)
1kg Chicken breast 3 for £10 (cost me 3.98 a kg in Asda)
Depends on what you buy ,they often sell cheap cans of cola ect.
Large bag of popcorn £1 (we take this to the cinema)
I don't shop there ofter just pop in if passing for the cheap bread and milk.
They also have their own money off vouchers minimum spend is usually £25 with £2.50 off.0 -
How much is the milk in Farmfoods?
I stocked up months ago with toilet tissue. The 12 packs. Anyone know how much they are at the moment? They were £1.99. Excellent in my opinionLoved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Northwest they are good loo rolls aren't they. There 2x 12 packs for £4 at the moment and the milk is the same (2x 2L)Mad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
The 1kg extra mature cheese is a good buy, just grate and freeze if you dont use too much.
They had some in my local reduced to £2.50 for 1kg short dated (28th july)so I had to have the 4 on the shelf.0 -
If i am in there it is either branded stuff I buy or I sometimes buy the 3 bags of chicken for £10. You either get breasts of mini breast fillets. I tend to defrost them and cook the whole bag at once in the oven to use cold in salad, sandwiches or for currys and stir frys. It tastes fine and there is very little fat on it.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I completely agree about Nicky toilet rolls and kitchen roll. I also buy kippers in Farmfoods and some of their frozen veg can be good value, especially when on offer. I've also had frozen, half legs of NZ lamb which are good and also their bacon.
Overall, because I don't really eat processed food, it's not really my sort of shop so I just go occasionally and stock up on the bits I know I'll use. Lately, I've noticed their prices going up and many long-term offers disappearing so, if I were you, I'd go armed with some Asda prices to compare with.0 -
I've shopped in farmfoods for 3/4 years now and bought everything including, loo rolls, sweets, icecreams, cleaning stuff, meat, fish, drinks, bread, cakes and loads more. It's always great prices and i have never had anything to complain about. Saved me a nice few quid.0
