Im three years quit and I still get the congestion/ catarrh every now and then. Luckily though since I quit Ive not had a cold but my hey fever effects me more0

It's been 5 years since I quit but I've never had a catarrh problems that I can link with it. I've had a few colds since but just one was bad, really. I'd see my GP if I were you...0

Honestly I don't smoke so personally know nothing about this matter. But I agree with almost all posters here saying you should go to meet your GP. My brother used to smoke. Hes quit for about one and a half years ago. I still remember he's only got bad cough and that was it. May be you do have catarrh problem.0
