My BT Verve 450 (18 months old) has given up and died. I've previously had 2 phones by iDect and they were pants so I'm not going back there again nor do I fancy BT again.
Can anyone recommend a good brand and possibly model? I need a twin set and both need to be cordless, I don't have a huge budget £30-40 but I want longevity, a good energy rating and stylish.

If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x

My OH is in the telecoms trade and he recommends Panasonic for DECT phones. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Get one that has call barring built in - very useful. Some Panasonic phones have this feature, allows you to bar upto 30 numbers.0

All the people that I know who are in that trade recommend Panasonic.0

I have a Panasonic trio. I particularly like the personalised ringtones, I use one for my Mum and another for all friends and family. If the phone rings with the default ring tone, we all know to let it go to answerphone - it effectively screens out all the time-wasting cold calls and silent calls!
I have this model, £59.98 for twin version http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-KX-TG8422EB-Colour-Answer-Machine/dp/B001WAKSH2/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1309863392&sr=8-9
Slightly cheaper at £46.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-KX-TG8522EB-Digital-Cordless-Machine/dp/B003LPTAQQ/ref=pd_cp_ce_1
And £39.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-KXTG7302-Digital-Cordless-Telephon/dp/B0019EJ4XK/ref=sr_1_18?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1309864225&sr=1-18
And £"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

Definitely Panasonic. BT DECT phones are pants. Sainsburys did have some Panasonic DECT phones on offer.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

Definitely Panasonic! Have not long bought a triple pack from Argos for half price. Knowing what I know now I would have bought them ages ago.
You can screen unwanted calls by placing your telephone numbers into groups and then setting those groups to be the only ones which call. I also liked the feature of copying the telephone numbers in your phone book to the other 2 phones. Saved hours of inputting numbers.
My only criticism is that we can't seem to turn the colour screens off, so at night the phone lights up that part of the room. We put an iPod sock over it now lol.0
