TV Adverts - The Small Print

The small print along the bottom on some TV adverts drive me mad, they either don't stay on screen long enough or the font colour blends into the background so its hard too see.

Exactly the point of the OP. You've obviously not seen the small print if you need an example. :)
The short term loans companys for one, you need to be very quick to spot the 2000% - 3000%+ APRs in the small print at the bottom of the screen! Will that do as a starter?

There are ASA/CAP rulings and guidelines covering all this - ok it is a voluntary code and the ASA is toothless with sanctions, however rulings are routinely noticed and amendments made as the last thing the ad agencies want is formal regulation. Www.asa.org.uk, submit a complaint online if you think advertisers are being deceptive, the ASA will investigate. Or you can look up the CAP guidelines and see if you can spot ads that don't comply.

Don't have one but anyone that needs to put the details this way gets avoided like the plague. Like the magazines for building a tank etc which put the details down the side.

I particularly like the shampoo or mascara ads where the small print says something like "the model is styled with hair extensions/false lashes."

Its blatantly making the effects you might expect to receive from the product seem better than results you could ever experience.

My husband notice one the other day, think it was for Persil, where it says you can wash @ 30degrees for half an hour. There's a kid and blood and mud I think?

The small print at the bottom says...

    Tip - wash immediately

So if you're out and your kid gets muddy, you better get home ASAP if you want the Persil to work!

I quite enjoy the fact that radio adverts often have people reading the 'small print' really really quickly at the end! :)
