I have sat down this morning to complete my tax return nad have come across a few unexpected problems. I filed online last year, and somehow did not notice that the property income pages only applied to UK property. I have declared a loss for my French property on there, which was offset against my other income, so reducing my tax bill. As I now realise this is incorrect, how do I go about correcting it without the HMRC launching an enquiry? Aslo, the property is jointly owned with my husband, but as I do all the work involved in the letting, I naively declared all the incoome as my own, instead of splitting it . I completed my return online in a bit of a hurry, and failed to spot that foreign income has to be declared using a paper return. I downloaded Taxcalc this morning, which has obviously made me realise my errors.0
