Bored

Is anyone else bored with wedding planning? I am so bored of it now that I'd just like to run away and not bother. I'm bored with the invitations, I'm bored with the venue, I'm bored with thinking about it, i'm bored of arguing with H2B about miniscule details. I'm bored with my diet. I'm bored with my beauty regime. I'm bored with people being snooty about our wedding being traditional and us not eloping.

I just don't care about this blimmin wedding anymore. I want my life back!!! :(

If's it's any consolation, it'll soon be here and gone and you can then relax on your honeymoon albeit looking for more events to plan! lol

When is your wedding codemonkey? I am def bored of the diet :(

A few weeks ago, I started to get a bit down and had hardly any energy and found it hard to get enthused, some other people helping me organise the wedding felt the same, it was just after invites etc were sorted so I think in such long term planning you can have periods of anti climax.

Just try to remember the point of the whole thing - marrying your OH, marriage not a wedding, and the whole thing is quite exciting regardless of what kind of wedding you are having or what arrangements you have to do.

Its 10 weeks tomorrow. I thiink if this keeps up, I'll be showing up in my jeans and flipflops, saying "whatever" to all the vows.

Registrar: Do you codemonkey take your long suffering h2b to be your lawfully wedded husband?
    Me: What? Oh. Whatever.

Hehe it's nothing personal to H2B - I still want to marry him, I just wish we'd just done a quick registry office thing, just the two of us, and a couple of witnesses off the street. It would be easier than dealing with 75 people and their dietary requirements (pescetarians, nut allergies, mushroom allergies, chicken allergies, fish allergies, glucose intolerance, lactose intolerance, diabetics), venues who put their menu prices up without telling us, invitations when nobody has the person's address (my niece), inviting my brother's chavvy (and rather creepy) son and so on, getting upset cause my newly arrived wedding underwear makes me look like a jelly. Blah.

would love to come to your wedding sounds brilliant lol.
I got married two years ago with 6 weeks to organize it, got married in florida me, hubby kids and our best friends and then celebrant in the garden for 80. It was brilliant and no stress until day before and that was worrying about the weather!!

Good luck, just chill, forget everyone else and it will be great.

I go through phases. For a week or so, I'll be superenthused, and then for another couple of weeks I won't even want to think about it. I think it's normal for the shine to wear off if it's been so high in your mind for so long.

How about declaring a day or a week "wedding free" and just setting it all aside for a while? Give yourself some time off. There're few things that can't be put back by one week, so give yourself a rest from it! *hugs*

Took the words right out of my mouth. Even if it's just a wedding-free weekend, that's still enough time to get a new perspective on the whole thing. :)

I felt exactly the same in the weeks leading upto the wedding, all I kept saying was "I wish we had just disappeared off somewhere to get married!" I was starting to understand exactly why people do it, but when the big day arrives you will see it was all worth it and you will have the most wonderful day, and make sure you enjoy every moment of it because it will be gone in a flash!

Now I kinda miss all the planning, but will look forward to planning our holiday together instead :D
