I'd recommend the Silverbirch hotel on the Gortin road and would also recommend a quick look at the hygiene ratings on Omagh District Council website

I would not recommend mellon as it received 3/5 on the food hygiene system, pretty poor when you consider some of the chipies do better.

Just wondering did you have a good day at folk park and did you find somewhere nice to eat?

When you take it that Paul Rankins Cayenne in Belfast only got a 1, The Mellon's 3 dosen't seem that bad!

We have eaten at the Mellon before and it was fine, though to be honest I gave up looking for somewhere good for lunch in Omagh and usually just settled for a M&S sandwich - eating out in Enniskillen is much better, or the Woodhill in Irvinestown is hard to beat for a good feed!!!
DJWW - cos we won't let it!

Thanks for all the replies. I didnt get checking here on Saturday evening and we went yesterday morning so i didnt get to take anyone up on their recommendations.

We did however find 'Vanilla' recommended online.

Had a great meal - 3 courses followed by coffee / tea and two large soft drinks for £42. The food was fantastic too.
