I've never been to Ikea but I'll be rushing there to see what the fuss is about myself.
I thought they sold really trendy furniture at affordable prices.

  • Because they do solid yet cheap furniture which appeals to modern fashions. I have specific tastes and that can be very hard to satisfy in NI. On several occasions I have succeeded only to find huge price tags (for instance TV racks). IKEA has such a large selection that I could have got something remarkably similar for about £90 - about 1/4 of elsewhere in NI.
    2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.
  • i just bought all my bedroom furniture for 300 quid, BIG dressing table (think 6 foot long), 2 bedside tables and a big chest of draws. It was even surprisingly easy to put together.

The stuff 'looks' good quality - inside the 'wood' there's lots of empty space and cardboard. However, if you're not planning on having it for 30 years, there's no problem with it.

Ikea sell really cheap stuff that looks ok to the eye and is built well enough to last a couple of years. No wonder it's popular.

And their hotdogs are incredibly tasty for 35p or whatever it is ;)
  • Their biscuits with the different flavours of jam & cream are yummy as well.:j
