                    Hi all,
Had my LO (first) just over 4 months ago and just wondered if anyone had any tips on coping with horrible post pregnancy hair.
I did read somewhere that because of hormones your hair doesn't fall out as normal, and that is indeed what I noticed whilst pregnant - so it looked thicker and was less greasy and needed washing less often.
Now it seems even worse than before - falling out in handfuls and looking lank and greasy not so long after I washed it (this all started a couple of weeks ago).
I've got long-ish, uncoloured, untreated hair that is normally prone to looking a bit greasy and flat - but my usual routine of wash, condition, let it dry naturally every other day was always fine.
Just wondering if anyone has any tips, suggestions of shampoos etc, that might help??
Thanks!

I'd suggest washing as normal, and going easy on the conditioner for a while. I found using it alternate times helped after having my little boy. Also, try to get to the hairdressers regularly, as it will look and feel better for a trim. Other than that, a ponytail is your new best friend, and will get you through the worst hair days.
By the way, it will suddenly start to re-grow, and then you'll have lots of fluffy shorter bits, so invest in a few clips to keep that under control when the time comes!Shrinking my mortgage!

            Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll try using a bit less conditioner - although I used to find that using none often increased greasiness, don't know why that was..
I think I'll try and get to the hairdressers this week. I've got a family wedding in 2 weeks and was wondering what to do with my hair.
But good to know that it'll grow back!0

            Hmmmm...
was just thinking that I might try a new hairstyle - maybe go a bit shorter. Maybe that will help..0

A decent cut will help, as will advice from your hairdresser about products to use during this period.
I am a bit baffled by waffle's post though. I've got 3 kids, lost handfuls of hair after each, and had shoulder length or longer hair each time, but the regrowth never ended up with fluffy shorter bits to be clipped up! It doesn't come out in clumps, leaving discrete bald patches IME. It just gets thinner, so instead of having 100 strands per handful, you have about 70 for a while (by way of example) so there aren't short fluffy patches to be pinned up, just maybe slightly flyaway hair all over for a few weeks, bit a good cut will sort that too, maybe a textured or layered look.0
