What to wear with this skirt?

I bought this skirt a little while ago but haven't yet worn it as I'm not sure what to wear it with (never worn a skirt like this before but it was a bargain so didn't want to pass it up)

I have quite a few pairs of flat shoes, sandals etc so will probably have some footwear to go with it. It's just a top I'll need. I've got a black t-shirt but it's quite tight as is the skirt is at the top so I don't want to look like a giant tube!
What colour top would you wear with it and what style?
Thanks

A loose asymmetric top in any colour you like perhaps with short capped sleeves but not frilly as the frills could argue with the stripes. You might even get away with a polka dot (if either the back ground or spot is black or grey).Truth always poses doubts & questions. Something like this? http://www.clothingattesco.com/tops+t-shirts/f+f-lace-trim-top/invt/jf110017/&bklist=icat,4,shop,catgwomens,womens-tops-and-t-shirts
Or a gipsy style top, in black or white? You want something quite lose over the skirt I think. http://www.clothingattesco.com/womenswear/f+f-long-sleeved-gypsy-top/invt/jf110258/?htxt=%2FqMdRgq5Uc6HIy7P4Z83R73nx3erSROShjbn50CcoXV4YGVk9UEFyom1VZly5cEy%2FIETow6kZk%2BA%0AdomvJ3ndqQ%3D%3D0 -
I would wear a short fitted very sheer blouse with it in either black or white with a plain bright coloured strappy vest top underneath:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I think something plain and fitted like a bright-ish strappy top or a vest would actually look nice with it. Or a white top with bright(red?) accessories.0

I agree, depends where you're wearing this skirt, work or just casual wear. I'd put it with a strappy vest top, black or white probably or for work maybe a short sleeved white blouse, capped sleeve to give a little bit of shape at the top.
Really depends what 'your' style is. Personally I wouldn't add it with anything 'floaty' as the skirt looks floaty you end up one big floaty thing wafting about! lol

I agree too, a nice vest top would look lovely, and some nice chunky long beads

Another vote for a vest top here, perhaps with some detail around the necklineAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I wouldn't wear anything too tight or fitted with this skirt or 'see through' as the elasticated waistband would be visible( not a good look). A plain white top with cap /3/4 sleeves would do it with a nice longish necklace. You live..You learn.:)0

A White vest would look lovely0

I have the same skirt! I just wear mine with a plain white vest and a long necklace that has a turquoise stone on it.
Sorry that's not much help but my taste is very plain and simple, but I would definitely not wear anything frilly or floaty with it.
