credit security limited??

Can anyone help me? Please. I found out that Wescot were trying to get in contact via my old adress. I found out and tried to contact them to set up a payment plan. Now they tell me that they have passed this on to CREDIT SECURITY LIMITED.

I just wanted to know if this company is legitimate and will they allow me to set up a affordable payment plan? Or shall I start panicing now. Will they force me to make full payment? Will they take me to court? I really wanted to settle this with Wescot, but now it seems too late. Can any one advise me. :'(

I appreciate it was myself who didnt make payment to the original holder (Barclays) So I want to pay this back through a payment plan but have heard some worrying things about Credit Security.

I didnt recieve the default letter from barclays as they had my old address. The only reason I found out about Westcot is because I bumped in to my old landlord who stated they tried to get in touch. Now just as i wanted to set up a payment plan with Westcot they have passed it on to Credit Security. I found this out from Westcot this morning, so I dont know what Credit Security will say as they are closed at the moment.

What is the worst case scenario? And do Credit Security reason with you to set up a payment plan? I hope so.

Worst case scenario...hmmm...well, they will probably be a bit annoyed, and they might bluster a bit and you should really prepare yourself for annoying phone calls.:D

Relax. Seriously. They have to take yu to court before they can do anything serious despite what they might say. First, do yu acknowledge the debt? How old is it and how much for? If you have no knowledge of this debt, or it is more than 6 years old, there's some wiggle room. We can't really advise until we have the full picture.

  • Not so much a response to your thread but another question for the Forum about Credit Security Limited. Ten years ago I had some serious debt issues and reached agreement with Credit Security Limited on two debts and have paid each month every month since. I recently had a letter from Barclays saying a company called Moorcroft Debt Recovery weere now going to collect one of these and I should no longer deal with Credit Security Limited. I did not recognise any of the reference numbers quoted so did not know what it referred to or even if it was owed. Subsequently I wrote to Moorcroft asking for more information and eventually I got a statement showing it was indeed the one outstanding debt I had been paying to Credit Security but showing that it was only paid up to January of this year - yet I have sent a cheque every month without fail and have the cheque stubbs to prove it. As a result I have gone back through my statements for this year and it now becomes clear that even though I have sent both payments every month (in seperate envelopes) none of the cheques have been cashed since January - yet I received nothing from Credit Security explaining why or what was happening. Some quick online research shows that Credit Security are no longer at the Aylesbury address I had for them and again I had not received any notification of change of address so have been sending my cheques to the old address. I am assumimg I will be able to make an arrangement with Moorcroft Debt Recovery to pay future payments to them on the one I have been written to about but I am concerned about the other one as I see no point sending a cheque if they simply dont cash it and I dont know if thats because its gone to the wrong address (although surely they will have had post redirected) or if its because they are no longer responsible for the account but I do not want to be seen to not be honouring the arrangement I made. Suggestions would be welcome - and also has anyone else had the problem about none notification of change of address
