Special delivery uses 2 options on a Friday, one is a GUARANTEED delivery for a Saturday which costs an extra £2 and the normal one.
I do quite a few Special deliveries in a week and never pay the extra and have never not had one delivered on a Saturday as long as the person is in.

Edit: I hotfooted it over to track the package but tracking isn't currently not available. Probably as its just been dispatched, but could be a minor blip in system.

You are correct, don't worry, the Citylink tracking is sometimes a bit slow to update. When I got my wii from Amazon, I received the dispatch email at 6:45pm, Citylink tracking updated at 02:47am as being on route to the depot.. all will be fine

Regarding Royal Mail Special Delivery, I am not sure if Amazon have some sort of contractual agreement with Royal Mail regarding guaranteed Saturday delivery (normally £2 extra per package) but to this date anything I have ordered through Amazon by Special Delivery on Friday has turned up on Saturday.

only thing is city link sometimes don't delivery on saturdays last week my wii was sent on a friday and city link kept it until monday..... i would personally track your order with city link and phone them to check your local city link delivery on saturdays.... if not worth going to collect it from the depot....

when this happened to me amazon refunded my postage as it didn't arrive next day..

Hope they do though arrive though... good luck..
