New opportunity any advice

I currently work part-time but have an hours journey in and out of work (car).
I have managed to secure a full time position with a company in the city but it will take 40 mins each way (public transport). Also I would have prefered part-time.

I have been advised by many people that this company dont treat there employees well.

My questions are:- whats the best way to turn them down and should I ask them if I can be part-time.

Anyone on this forum worked for them Dell giant in Glasgow?

    Hello afsha

Apart from hearing the views of 'many people', another indicator of a poor employer is if they advertise for new staff often.;) If you've noticed that this firm has to advertise on a more than regular basis, it probably means that they can't retain staff.............and happy employees are less likely to leave.;)

I'm puzzled by your 'what's the best way to turn them down and should I ask them if I can be part-time' comment.

If they are a poor employer and you want to decline their offer of full time employment...............why would you want to work for them part-time?

Anyway, if you go with your gut feeling and still want to turn them down you could write something like:

    22 December 2006

    Dear Sir

After careful consideration I have decided to decline your offer of employment with your company as (insert job title).

    Yours faithfully
