Mortgage and Credit Rating HELP!!

Hi,
My husband and I are going to buy our first property together early next year.
I was just wondering how much our credit rating will affect us getting a mortgage?
Neither of us have ever been in debt or have a bad credit history.
My husband has a credt card that he pays off every month.
I however have never had a credit card and have no real credit history at all, good or bad.
Will this affect us when we come to applying for mortgages in joint names?
Thanks in advance for all your comments

If you have no credit history at all it might be worthwhile getting a credit card from your bank with a low credit limit, spend a a little (even a tenner a month) and pay it off automatically by direct debit each month - if you have a documented history of making regular on-time repayments it can only boost your credit-worthiness. Also if you can shift one of the utility bills into your name and pay by direct debit that can helppoppy100
