Claiming bank charges - affect mortgage??? (Same bank)

Hi everyone,
After last weeks post I have made a few changes and have decided to try to claim back my bank charges (this would obviously help our debt situation) from the two banks we have accounts with.
Problem is our mortgage is with H**lf*x and this is one of the banks I am going to try to get my charges back from. My son successfully got £200 of £285 charges back from them a few weeks ago and we've already run up £90 in charges this year with then. Times 6 years and we would probably have enouh to clear the overdraft off!!!
Anyway, my worry is though that if we claimed the charges back from them they might 'turn funny' and ask us to pay up our mortgage out of nastiness. Obviously our financial situation being as it is it would be nigh on impossible to get another mortgage at present if they asked up for full payment.
Has anyone come across this yet or have any advice on this situation? We would like our money back of course but would they be allowed to close our mortgage for claiming the charges back?

Hi, we claimed back our bank charges from the same bank and the claim came to a few £1000! We also have a mortgage with them and haven't had any problems with them trying to get us to pay it back. Go for it!Debtfree JUNE 2008 - Thank you MSE:T0

Seconded. I claimed and got 2.5k from Halifax, and have my mortgage with them, and have had no problems since. Still continue to use the bank account I claimed the charges on too. I say go for it.0
