Hi all, my first time posting in here - in the hope that it'll inspire me to properly stick to my plan this week.
I'm out from about 7.15am to 7.30pm at the earliest on weekdays for work, so plan for 'quick, easy and sturdy' dinners in the evening. Don't generally plan for weekends, but go with the flow while trying to use up fresh things that need using. Also try to prepare Monday's dinner on Sunday, as Monday's the busiest day of the week at work and if I'm lucky I'm home by 9pm.
This is for me and Him Indoors, although a couple of friends are generally over to eat with us at least one evening during the week, so I make sure there's something 'stretchy' like pasta or risotto available if they decide they're coming over. Also, I'm vegan but they aren't, so I plan a core of vegan meals that can be de-veganised easily if wanted. However, I count myself lucky that most of the time he, and they, are quite happy with the vegan stuff :T
Monday - something in the SC [probably a 'chuck it all in' veg curry, can defrost a portion of mince or diced meat to fry up and throw in with his grub if wanted, served with rice]
Tuesday - pasta w/veg and creamy sauce [packs of whoopsied stir-in Carbonara sauce are available if meatiness is required]
Wednesday - roast veg w/rice or wholemeal couscous
Thursday - veg sausage casserole [probably in SC with baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and loads of garlic - pork sausages can be done separately if wanted]
Friday - stir fry w/well-pressed and marinated tofu [or chunks of whatever meat is dug out of the freezer on request]
We don't really do puddings with meals [snacking between meals is another story  ]. There are yoghurts in the fridge or fruit if the mood takes us after dinner, but it rarely does because I tend to overdo it on the serving size.
Lunches are leftovers, sandwiches, cereals or, if I'm really pushing the boat out [ie forgot to take something in with me], a plain jacket spud from the shop near work, with salad cream. :rotfl:
Sorry for prattling on. I will get more succinct with practice, honest!Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides.0 -

Hi everyone,
First time posting my meal planner on here. I live with my partner and we usually do a fortnightly shop for £40 - a tenner each a week. Sometimes we have to go a little over but we mostly try and stick to it. Our priority is eating cheap meals without having to rely on frozen meals. We tend to bulk-make and freeze, so we will be eating the same meals as this the week after next - but maybe not in the same order!
Monday: Chicken Paella
Tuesday: Spaghetti and Meatballs
Wednesday: Pasta Bake
Thursday: Baked Potatoes
Friday: Spaghetti Bolognaise
Saturday: I'm home alone and revert to my student ways with a bowl of pasta!
Sunday: Chicken Bruscetta Bake0 -
Slightly delayed this week, and we didn't do too well last week. OH had man flu, and I felt poorly one day, so we ended up varying it a lot.
The plan for this week is:
M-spaghetti puttanesca, salad
T-Cabbage, potato, onion and lamb hash
W broad bean and chorizo risotto
T-cottage pie from freezer, carrots and broad beans for me as OH is out.
F-Tomato and mozzarella pasta bake
Sa-Cod, with a tomato sauce, fried potatoes, veg
su-roast pork hock, potatoes etc0 -
My first time posting a meal planner as well!
Food is an odd one in my house. I am veggie, and DH is not, and gets in a lot later than me most nights, so we tend to eat separately. But, we have both decided to meal plan, and he had a look at mine to see what he could adapt so we weren't buying two rounds of food. Still, I don't actually have his plan, so the meal plan is just for me.
Breakfast - various cereals - got enough in to last till winter!
Lunches - HM bread and HM Hummus, olives, with crisps, fruit and chocolate bars
Dinner:
Mon- Left over wraps with leftovers and HM Hummus
Tues - Cheese Beano (Out at Guides so need something quick)
Wed - Pasta Bake from the Freezer, Garlic Bread
Thursday - Cream of Green soup from the freezer with HM bread and butter, tinned fruit and icecream
Friday - HM Pizza, with any veg left overs
Saturday - going on holiday, but need to pack lots sandwiches and snacks as leaving at 3am! Just thought though that packing flasks of coffee won't work as luggage allowances are so small these days. Hmmm.
Sunday - Bella Italia baby.Live the good life where you have been planted.
