 Just fed up with UK offers and services not available to Northern Ireland. Can anyone tell me why the deals offered by VW and Peugeot, for example, for an all inclusive car/service/roadside/insurance package have a tiny wee smallprint two fingered salute to NI folks?
Oh I could crush a grape.

part off the problem maybe that people in GB are not good with Geography and think Northern Ireland is abroad .How many countries are there in GB = three
How many countries are there in the UK = [STRIKE]three[/STRIKE] ,[STRIKE]three [/STRIKE][STRIKE]and a bit[/STRIKE] , um next question please"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I think the bigger problem is that folk "over there" think we're all killing each other over here. I'm sure the rioting in the streets helps reinforce that idea.0

'insurance package'
Insurance is more expensive here that's the main reason. the dealers are not happy either not getting the business0 -

Yeh, I don't think that's true any more (my son's insurance is more expensive in edinburgh than belfast), but even if it is then why not just add a few quid per month to the offer price. Is there nothing that we can do as a group of consumers to force them into giving us the same deal as everyone else?0 -
If only I was a millionaire, then I could pay lawyers to take it to the Human Rights Court, but then, that wouldn't be very MSE would it? :money:0

But the Insurance underwriters that these Car companies use treat NI differently0 -

But the OP didn't say GB, he said UK. Geography or not, Northern Ireland is a part of the UK and to call it a 'bit' of a country makes no sense if you consider wales and scotland to be countries. NI has a population of 2million, Wales has a population of 3million, Scotland has 5million.
The very term 'United Kingdom' would be defunct as the full title of the place we live in is 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain of Northern Ireland'.0 -

As I understand it, insurance (in particular) is a special case in NI because we have particularly high personal claims (I think) payouts. This will obviously load our premiums, if true, and is something which for the population is partly responsible.
Generally, I feel your pain. It is not fair, especially considering we get paid less than much of the rest of the UK as well, but what can we really do about it?Always overestimating...0
