Even being three months into my DMP, and them being well aware of this for the previous four / five months, they still call up to ten times a day. I admit that recently it's cut down a bit, but today I received my first ever text from them.
'Dear Mr xxxxx Please call Halifax PLC on 0xxx xxxxxx You have not been charged for this text'
Has anyone else received one of these?

And HSBC too LTD. :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

They probably charge you £10 for the privilage of texting you.
Thats what they charge for every phone call they make to you. Wonder why they call so much?

Perhaps it was a hot girl working at Halifax?

Contacting you by telephone or by text whether it's ten times a day or once a day every day it's classed as harassment due to the frequency of it.
You should write a letter to them (send by fax or recorded delivery) informing them that if they don't cease you will take further action against them because what they are doing is a breach of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 ( http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/section5/chapter_e.html ) and is causing you emotional distress.
A bit of embarrassment on a program like Watch Dog or a newspaper getting involved will halt this practise.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

This is also covered by the Administration of Justice Act 1970.0

Why on earth would you buy a new mobile, you could always just ignore the texts?
Or better still, don't give them your mobile in the first place....I always just say I don't have one if any companies ask (unless it's an airline and I want them to contact me about my flight changes!) They don't need my mobile number and the number of times it gets sold on to other people and you end up subscribed to some stupid "pay as you receive" text service....
Don't give out your mobile number if you don't want them to use it.0
