Default Notice "reminders" when on a DMP?

Hi,
I am currently paying my creditors via CCCS on a DMP and today I received another Default Notice from one of my creditors, namely the Co-operative Bank.
I rang them and asked why they had chosen to issue another Default Notice even though I'm on a DMP via CCCS. Despite the fact that the letter clearly states "Default Notice", the gentleman replied that they have to issue "reminders" every six months whilst the debt is still outstanding. I then asked if I would end up with a a whole stack of Default Notices upon my credit file, to which he replied "No".
I was not entirely convinced by the explanation given and feel the Notice / "Reminder" has only been sent to intimidate people and possibly force more or higher payments. So, can anyone else shed light on this subject?
Thanking you in advance....

The Consumer Credit Act 2006 introduced a duty for a creditor to send out 6 monthly notices of default sums and arrears.
So presumably that is what you have?
They don't mean that a fresh default is being issued every time.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
