  • I would phone and ask if someone is avaliable today to see you to open an account in a branch. They should be able to do it there and then and give you the account details.
You can also ask what you need to take with you ie ID and in some cases bank statements.

This is what I did when I was in a similar situation but it was with Lloyds, i would imagine this would be the same anywhere though.

I hope you get it sorted soon.

THANKYOU! strangely I already have an update on my situation, I think it must be my lucky day as I opened todays post, expecting a pile of debt letters only to open one from halifax with my new acc number! How very strange, they said six weeks but it wasnt even six days, obviously it will take a little longer for the card to arrive but has prevented my wages going into Lloyds. The rest of the mail was fab too! A maternity dress i bought for 3 quid from ebay turned up and turned out to be brand new tagged and the most stunning dress ive ever bought! and to top my day looks like our sprog is going to be making its entrance into the world a week early. Im 32 weeks not 31! Yey! I love fridays! Happy christmas everyone x

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • Lucky you having good post.

I've never understood the baby thing and how they work it out. My sister has two sprogs and they just turned up when they felt like it! The hospital gave her loads of dates non were right!

    Good luck with it all
