can anybody tell me if stamps have a use by date? my friend picked a collection of unused 2nd class stamps from a carboot for me but some are a couple of years old?0

hi, yes, i made a typo*
it should be SULPHUR (which i spelt Sulpher) & have now added the correct spelling
If its any consolation, the mag actually spelt it wrong according to the Royal Society of Chem. I'm a Science teacher and the spelling should now be Sulfur. I think the official change happened in 1990-1992, and QCA recommended it be used in 2000 for exams, etc. I still forget though and write Sulphur, Sulphuric and Sulphate!

As far as I know, as long as the stamp is unfranked and has a "1st" or "2nd" on it then it can be used indefinately to the value of a 1st or 2nd class stamp. I've got Christmas stamps from 7 or 8 years ago I just came across which I'm using now.
