Pay as you go gyms?

Anyone know of any gym chains that offer pay as you go/per visit schemes? I'll need to join a gym after Xmas (for obvious reasons ) but will probably only go a couple of times a week so there's not much point in paying for a full gym membership.

I play bananalotto and often get 3 numbers which equals a free weekend pass, think it is for fitness first, I get a few of these each month. Only good if you have one near you and you want to go on the weekend tho

The gym I am a member of charges £5 per visit. It works out much more expensive to do it that way rather than take out a membership.

I believe at David Lloyd you can buy a 3 month membership.

As stated in an earlier post, the local authority gyms also do pay per session and generally work out much cheaper.

JJB are doing a 12 day pass for £12 http://www.jjbfitness.co.uk/specialoffers/ that way you get to try the facilities before you commit, my local smallish no chain gym will let you pay £30 per month pay as you go

Total fitness will usually do a 1 day trial, you could travel round different gyms for free for your first weeks training!

Unfortunately I'm about 40mins away from the nearest LA fitness but thanks to everyone who's replied. I'll look into the local authority ones, but surely you get what you pay for? Not after state of the art equipment but would prefer not to have machines collapse on me during use

hehe i think Kinetica gyms do pay as you go?

I think they're usually linked with Swimming Pools and Leisure centres

Our local council run gyms certainly don't have machines that look like they will fall on you!!! The downside is restricted opening hours for our local one & it doesn't have a pool, certainly worth investiagting, I think you'd be surprised & if you are not pleasantly surprised blame me!

my local council run gym is £4.50 off peak and £6.00 peak. thats in trafford manchester.

My Local Authority gym is new and had better equipment then the £50 Bannatyne gym also nearby.

It also has a 20 metre pool free to use with the gym session

our local council gym is bout £4 a session but only £25 a month then you get to use theother gyms in the area and any of the pools as well much better value than paying every week!
/just need to start going myself...(new years resolution alert!)
