Tesco Express Near Me

Options
Hello,

They're building a Tesco Express near where I live, just wondered if Tesco is any good (normally we go to morrisons or ASDA)?

What's it like? Cheap? Bargains? or not worth a visit?

Thanks

My next door neighbour who works at Tesco says to be careful in Tesco express because they charge more than in their bigger stores, and tend to stock the more expensive brands rather than their own brand/value things.
Ok for basics though, if you're in a hurry.

I find it quite good for end of day bargains, when they reduce stuff that's sell by that day. It is more expensive than the big stores, but it's good to have fresh fruit and veg close at hand for between weekly shops.
  • tesco express is a small 'corner shop' sized store. it replaced the one stop near me last year. They add about 5 pence onto all products they sell and only sell branded items, with a small amount of tesco own produce.

i've never seen a tesco value product there. and our shop hardly ever has decent reduced items because the take about 10p off the item and then at the end of the day instead of really reducing it for the customers the staff buy it all cheaply.

Our local TE is just what we need. Sure prices are a bit higher than in their main stores, but there's no petrol cost or car-park mayhem! What's more, their stock control seems to be pretty good. Always got fresh milk and a range of their own bread and rolls including ciabattas and bagels. Even had some decent fresh fruit and veg last week when we needed mushrooms urgently.

Ours has the occasional BOGOF offer. But they don't usually have deals on beer cases as they would take up too much space. It isn't a PO, but they always seem to have plenty of stamps.

Lastly, they always seem to find another cashier if there's a queue too!

All-in-all a considerable improvement on the previous One Stop!
