hi guys,
Ive looked back and cant find anything regarding this, so i hope its ok to post and ask.:o
I live in Ballymena, and am severly disabled and on health benefits and housing benefit.
The problem i have is that obviously oil can only be bought in bulk, but i cant afford to fork out £100+ in one go.
is there anywhere i can pay by monthly direct debit, beforehand to build up credit, or anything like this?
be very grateful for any help
thanks!

Hi!
Thanks so much for the reply!
Does it have to be £70 or is there a variable amount?
ETA: Also, how does their pricing compare? Is it pretty similar to other companies?0 -
My parents used to pay £50 p/m to Maxol, good idea if you need to budget but you are then tied to them and their price when ordering........hope this helps..0

Good point! It may be better to put a few £s aside each week/month in a designated bank a/c, that way you earn interest (OK, not very much but a little) and can order from any company. With online banking it's easy to transfer money from one a/c to another anytime. HTH!
(I used to do this myself before moving into a house with Phoenix gas - oil is expensive to buy, let along all in one go!)Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I have found maxol will price match there competitors if you are paying by cash or card .If you are paying by DD you will pay full price .
I think most places will let you pay by DD but if you can save the cash you can shop around as you need it .

A lot of the companies sell stamps for £5, my mother collects them from The Black Emerald fuel centre on Queen Street 028 25643099 or they also have a payment plan
Our payment terms can be tailored to suit your own individual needs. You can pay by cash, cheque, and credit/card or by using our Home Heating Budget Payment Plan, which enables you to spread your payment evenly out across the year.

We pay £50 per month to Emo. They will price match.:hello:0 -
I've been putting away 70 quid a month for over 2 years now in the Maxol scheme, and every time they match the cheapest quote I've had from elsewhere. :T0

The best advice is to shop around. I also worked for Maxol Direct and still get my oil from them even though I was made redundant nearly 4 years ago. They would almost always match the lowest price available but we had a list of what other companies were charging that day so we knew if someone was "trying it on" with a ridiculous price. 900L - 1999L would usually be the best pence per litre rate for domestic customers as 500 - 899L would be up to 3ppl dearer and 300 - 499L would be 5-6 ppl dearer. Value Oils based at Mallusk was opened by one of the O'Connors brothers who owned Connors Fuels before it was bought by Maxol. As far as I know they deliver 300L at the same ppl rate as 900L but they only take orders online or via a very expensive premium phone line.0
