Mortgaged Offered but lower rate now?

Just been offered a mortgage by accord and out of interest i was casually browsing on there website on mortgage deals.

I noticed that the deal we are on now is offered at a slightly lower rate from 4.29% to 4.09%. What are the chances of this being amended?

Any advice would be great since we are FTB and every penny would count :j

This happened to us with First Direct and they put us on the lower rate after we asked.

This happened to me too with Woolwich. I had to pay a Change of Product fee of £150 which was basically the fee for withdrawing from the original rate. Give Accord a call and see what they say.

Just checked for my daughter who is due to exchange in the next few days, her mortgage with Co-Op has down 0.3% and would save her £33 a month. Now I just have to nag her into ringing them. She just wants a quiet life even with a dodgy survey she didn't try to negotiate with the vendor!

Well we have just been told that we can move to the lower rate for an administration fee of £95. This will provide a monthly savings of £14.40 over 2 months which equates to £345.60 taking off the admin fee we are still £250.60 better off.

Dont really have a choice but i do find that this administration fee is a bit excessive
