    You need to make Lowell provide conclusive proof of the payment.

    If they can't or won't do that, then they can get lost as the debt would be statute barred.

    Do you have internet banking where you can check back through your statements for the month in question and see if you paid anyone that sum? Worth checking for your own confidence and that they haven't gone an linked accounts somehow.

    Im with Bank of Scotland and it doesnt go that far back...Should I pop into the branch and request it? Do you know if you have to pay to get it? xx

    I think they will charge a lot for copy statements, but if you send them a SAR or data protection query (telling them the info you need but statements would be fine as long as its within the enclosed fee) I think it'll cost you £10.

    BoS charge £5 for a statement and you only need one as you know the date. They might be able to check it on screen for you without charging if you ask nicely in branch!
