    Yes you're right. It depends what we're talking about with regard to continuous service. For pension rights it's a year break. For other things it varies. Best to read the terms and conditions booklet to see.

    Continuous service shouldn't be a problem... I hope to leave the old job on a Friday and start the new job on the Monday after :)

    That is a good point about the terms and conditions booklet (and possibly a local policy booklet too)... though I wouldn't get that until I get my proper start date.
