Help! New Fridge Freezer Delivered to wrong address!

Hi

I don't know what i can do. I ordered a fridge freezer from a company on Ebay with a very good feedback etc. Was to be delivered yesterday between 9 and 5. didn't arrive! Company closed at 5 so couldn't get hold of them. Emailed tham and they phoned this morning asking if fridge freezer was ok? Laughed then took deep breath and e xplained it didn't arrive.
Their paperwork form the courier says that it was and has been signed for!
have been on the phone to them most of the day, until they can get hold of the delivery driver they can't do anything.
They need the driver to tell them where it was delivered to,and who the nice person who took delivery was who also hel;ped them unload it and sign using my surname but a different initial.
so at the moment I have no fridge freezer and doesn't look likely that i will get one before xmas. as far as the compmany is concerened its delivered and they won't despatch another until the original one is tracked down!!

Help

find out who the courier company was and the consignment number. Most have online tracking where you can at least view the signature. Ask for this as a minimum for them to prove their story that it's been delivered.

You can then chase the delivery company yourself if needed.

Hope it gets sorted for you.

Hi Cathy, If you paid by credit card then they are legally bound to refund you and they then chase the company for the refund. Hope this helps you, Good luck.

Hmm - if the company sent the fridge/freezer to the wrong address then surely it's their problem and they need to get one to you?

However, if the courier made the mistake then a long winded process might be involved to find out where the fridge/freezer has gone - also I'd guess that whoever signed for it using your surname may well have broken the law (unless they happen to have the same surname as you, of course!)

Could be a dodgy delivery driver who got one of his "mates" to sign for it,he probably didnt even get to your address/street, delivered it straight to his mates place.

this has crossed my mind as we do live in quite a nice street and couldn't imagine one of my neighbors keeping it?

Yes, phone them straight away and explain, a similar thing happened to me something went missing in the post and I successfully claimed £150 back from barclaycard.

Moral of the story? Give up buying on ebay like I did a long time ago - too many things go wrong on ebay - and ebay never want to help out
