Jane Norman employees - when will they hear anything?

Hi
My daughter is (WAS!) employed in one of the Jane Norman Debenhams concessions up until they were all go told to go home on Tuesday afternoon - this was the first they had been told anything of the firm's predicament. So far the administrators have not been in touch with any of these employees. Nobody from Debenhams can help them. The Citizens Advice Bureau merely told them to sign on.
My daughter was 3 weeks away from qualifying for her Maternity Pay from Jane Norman. She is 29 weeks pregnant. Today she was told by her ex supervisor that she would not be paid at all for June. On Friday her rent is due, all of her Direct Debits go out of her bank account next week and she is very distressed and does not know where she stands either legally or financially. Her bank balance currently will not withstand all the outgoings that start on Friday.
I am very disappointed with the CAB for a start.
Can anyone advise me what she should do?
I am unable to help her financially otherwise I would do so gladly. I can, and have done, offer her a roof over her head for as long as it takes her to get back on her feet.
At the moment neither she nor her colleagues are willing to go back to Debenhams as the managers there have told them they do not know if they will get paid.
She wants to work and has been working hard to be able to afford to bring up baby without state help.
Where can these girls go for help?
Please - can anyone tell me anything that may help my daughter and her work colleagues?
Thanks in advance from a desperate mother.

Oh I m really sori to hear that
Worse comes to worse she will still get her maternity allowance AFTER the baby is born. Right now it seems there's nothing she can do with regards to the due pay till earnest &
young? take over.
I do remember there was a short term loan being offer by jobcentre plus to get over this and next month till the redundancy payment kicks in ( mind you it takes ages) , I m not sure but worth finding out.
Lastly do take care , I m really sorry for your daughter predicament and hopefully she can pass this hurdle0 -
I finished working at Jane Norman on 1st May, however I never got paid at the end of May for whatever reason, so i was expecting my money at the end of June. As expected, I wasn't paid.
I found this e-mail address from the administrators which is for employees etc janenormanadministration@zolfocooper.eu
I feel sorry for some of my ex-colleagues who are simply left jobless, particularly those who, like a friend of mine are on maternity leave- this situation is simply unfair.0 -
She needs to follow the CAB advice and sign on, and also check with the Jobcentre about the short term loans as already advised. I don't know if they still exist as there have been so many cuts recently, but they can tell her what is available. She also needs to speak with her bank urgently to let them know that there will be payments coming out of her account for which she does not currently have funds. Unpleasant as it may be, it is a lot easier to deal with this problem with the bank before it occurs and hopefully avoid some charges, than to ignore it and hope it will go away, because it won't.
She also needs to be prepared for some brutal answers to her predicament: in the current climate, there is not necessarily a lot that can be done for her. I know you said you are disappointed with the CAB advice, but what did you expect from them? They just call it as they see it, and while I have total sympathy for your daughter and anyone else caught up in bankruptcy/receivership proceedings, this is the reality of the situation they find themselves in today's Britain.
If you can, you should encourage her to be proactive and to work fast, while it is natural to spend some time thinking "Why me?" she should resist this urge and find out exactly where she stands. This will take some leg work which needs to start straight away. My philosophy is "If you don't ask, you don't get" So she should be out there asking right now.

SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
