Hi Guys
Hope you can help.
My B/F and I have lived here 6 years. Over the lat 8 months or so AK have been foning him and saying he owes money, sometimes they call 2 times a day.
He has no debts at all and has had none in the 7 years we've been together. He cannot recall any debt from years ago either.
He has said to them time and time again they need to send proof and a statement explaining what debt and owed to whom from when ? They ask his date of birth but he refuses to give details like that. they kept calling every day but sent no letter.
finally last week a letter came saying he owed over 1,200, if he pays 250 or something they'll pay the rest. What a con !! He owes nothing. It just says debt it doesnt say from where etc.
He called them and was firm that he owes nothing to anyone etc etc and said dont call back. They foned again today.
I've now stopped answering the fone. Even family call and I wont answer as I dont know if its these people , we are tearing our hair out.
Please tell us what to do ? Should we send One of the previous letters at the start of the topic ?
Thanks so much. Tico x

Sent that letter off about a week n a half ago, not heard anything as yet.
Got home this morning from shops and there was a message on answer machine saying to call Buchanan Clark and Wells ( ? ) , they left number and said to Quote a ref number.
Are these the same sort of people ?? Do not really want to call them back.

If the debt is from over six years ago ....tell them to whistle they are grasping at straws because they know that if you do not pay it will not effect your credit file!29th June -Beginning Credit Score 422
£2575
12th July - Credit score 471
22nd August - Credit Score 550
Still very poor just but only just!
Remaining to pay off: £1370.950 -
Yep same sort of people. Ignore them and wait to see if they write. If you happen to answer a call from them then ask them to write and hang up.
Has he checked his credit reports at all just to check there isn't anything odd on them?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Well Fermi, Thanks again for the letter info.
We had another letter from Activ Kapital to say they had no information or paperwork regarding any debt .
Therefore there is no debt to be paid and we'd not be hearing from them by either letter or telephone again !! :j
Thanks again. XXX0
