Offer accepted... - what now?

Shall I get a personal survey done BEFORE I apply for a mortgage?

Reason I ask, is that it will cost me £195 JUST to apply for a mortgage, - which, is non-refundable!

I'm just a little worried that if the seller pulls out, I'll be out of pocket.

Is there an order to do these things, or shall I just go all out and sign up to a mortgage, instruct a solicitor, and organise a survey all at the same time?!?

  • when our offer was accepted it was full steam ahead from then! the EA refused to take the property off the market until they had our AIP and the name of our solicitors so we were sort of pushed to do it all at once. Our seller doesn't have a chain though so I think they are keen to move it along.
What is the position of your seller?

Seller has no chain, neither do I.

Last time I got a mortgage, these initial non-refundable application fees didnt exist! Bloomin' cheek!
