I have just set up a new company and have got a domain name but i am now looking into logos and websites.
Can anyone suggest how to start designing a logo or recommend somewhere that could help?
Also how do i go about setting up a website? am i best going to one of the hosting sites that people have suggested and doing it myself or should i pay to get someone to do it?
Any help/suggestions are very gratefully received.
Thanks

What kind of site are you looking to set up? A one page one with your company contact details or a full blown store?0

Just a one page i think or maybe a couple of pages.
Its not a store where i will be selling things. It is for bookkeeping services so more of a presence on the internet than a place to sell things.
Need a logo for stationery as well as website and everything.0 -
Hello Jennifer,
For logo design, it depends entirely upon your budget.
If your budget is very low then check out http://www.fiverr.com/ - where you can get logo designs for $5. You WILL get what you pay for ;-)
If you have a bit more money to spend then http://99designs.com/ is definitely the way to go. You tell people what you want and they will mock up designs for you - you can then choose from tens of designs! It's a great system. Expect to pay three figures though.
If you are just looking to set up a pretty basic site then you can't go wrong with Wordpress.org. It is the world's most popular content management system and makes setting up a site pretty straightforward.
If you go down that road then let me know if you have any problems - I'd be happy to help!

if you outline requirements for the site I would do it for free providing its not too complex. I can normally make websites fast so shouldnt be a problem. I work on them everyday at work and have a degree in CS
Pm me if interested.

Both myself and my friend used https://www.thelogocompany.net. We got the logo and stationary for $100 at the time. They were brilliant and very understanding when we tweaked here and there and changed fonts, colours etc. After all the palava with the logo (our fault we were never satisfied!) We had all the choices again with the stationary including business cards. I can't believe how patient a company can be for that price. The outcome, two smashing logos. My friend actually emailed a picture of her dog across and they cartoonised that for her logo !
very impressed !0 -
Hi,
Personally I use Elance.com, there are many providers on there and you can get a corporate stationery set (letter head, invoice page, business card) created for around $100.
If you just want the logo it will probably be about $50.
It's always good to have very specific instructions. Maybe do a few rough sketches or save examples of logos you like from the web or in print.
You can set up a free website on Wordpress.com if you are willing to do it yourself, sometimes web designers charge a huge amount even if you just want a 2 page site!
Then again if you've got some spare cash you will get a smarter looking site if you go with a pro.0 -
You can choose a company that specializes logo designs. They are professional and providing an artistic designs.0
