ING Deals

Hi,
I have been offered a slightly better deal from INg compared to HSBC. A 1.89% 2 year fixed tracker from ING in comparison to 2.49% life time tracker. ING charges slightly more fee but balances out in 4-5 months as monthly I will be saving around 50 pounds for the 2 years fixed.
I don't know much about ING but the brokers (London and County) strongly recoomends them for their service quality. Apparently HSBC's service is poor.
Any experience with ING service and reliability? What happens if they go bust (I guess just a thought). I gather as a borrower I am less at risk in comparison to If I was saving?
Regards
Asif

Their service is pretty poor. Every time I call they give me different/contradictory answers to the same questions.
We applied as joint applicants, they then requested a proof of income from only one applicant. I called them to ask why they hadn't requested a proof of income from a 2nd applicant. They said "we don't need it, just send us 1 payslip from one applicant, that's all". Then they said they cannot give us the money we requested "based on affordability" - and they based this affordability on the income of this one applicant only!
Do not go to them if you're buying a new build either.
Their Mortgage application online tracker is also not working in my case. It did work in the beginning for a few days, then stopped and they say they cannot do anything about it.0
