Hair Colour Remover & Dying Naturally Red Hair

Hi,

Can anyone recommend any colour removers that don't ruin your hair and don't cost a fortune?

Also once the black dye it out I'm wanting to colour my naturally red hair again but none of the hair dyes say what the end result will be. Anyone had any experience wth dye and can you recommend cheap ones?

Many thanks for you help in advance

I used this on my hair: http://www.boots.com/en/Colour-B4-Hair-colour-remover-extra-strength-by-Scott-Cornwall-hair-expert-_1000976/

I had dyed it what I thought was light brown but it turned red instead.

Make sure you follow the instructions exactly and don't expect your hair to go back to its natural colour despite the promises on the packet. It'll probably go a ginger colour. You'll then need to dye it.

I'd seriously go to a salon for any hair colour repairs- it can go so badly and so easily when it comes to big colour changes like that. I think keep looking until your happy, see if you can find someone who has done something like this a few times before, there will be someone somewhere. Fact is they will need to take your hair down to a paler shade by stripping it, then putting the colour back in again. This will take a while and may need several applications. As a result your hair will take a bashing and will need tlc afterwards- this is another reason why its good to go to a salon, diy kits are notoriously bad for damaging hair when lightening!

For maintaining colour once its dyed (if you are looking to change the colour) try seeing if they can use a L'Oreal or Wella brand to colour your hair, ask them for the code they colour it with and see if you can match it with a DIY kit. For example, I had my hair coloured with L'Oreal colour 7.34 and I know Boots and Superdrug sell L'Oreal colour 7.4 which is not exactly the same but is similar enough to keep me happy! For a wash-in-wash-out Superdrug have a 7.34 colour which does match and means I can use a leave in twice a week as a colour depositing (dyed red washes out very quickly as some of the particles are larger and so find it harder to adhere to the hair in the same way browns and black colours do). You may not find the exact same colour but it will be easier to find a match if you know what colour they have put in.
