That is the problem, this roof suitability can be overuled by the installation company, then Think Green Earth refuse to communicate!
I won't go ito detail at the moment as my case is live, feel free to PM me.0 -
Hello John,
A little more detail:- One surveyor came about 6 weeks ago. He said the roof was suitable (verbally). He also said that a rep from the installing company would come along before the installation was due, in order to determine exactly where to fit the panels and what scaffolding might be required.17 Sharp Panels. of 230 watts (3.91 KW)

Hi Ron
She needs to chase up both companies, has she signed a lease agreement with the installation company?0 -
Anybody who needs a copy of ThinkGreenEarth terms and conditions of refund can read this.
''
Think Green Earth - Free PV Offer
For a one off survey fee of £397.00 Think Green Earth Limited will determine whether or not your property is suitable for the installation of solar panels.
Things to consider- If after survey your roof is deemed not suitable for solar panels, by Think Green Earth Limited, all monies paid to Think Green Earth Limited will be refunded.
- You must be the freeholder of the property, if you are a leaseholder you must have at least 25 years left on your lease.
- The investor(s), that Think Green Earth Limited sources for you, will own the solar panels.
- You DO NOT need planning permission unless you live in a listed building, conservation area or world heritage site.
- There needs to be a metered supply of electricity to the property. An investor can not install PV unless there is one present. The household must also comply with Part P electrical standards (subject to offer terms and conditions).
- The investor(s) that Think Green Earth Limited sources, for suitable properties, will supply and fit, solar PV modules to the outer surface of the roof, an inverter and other electrical equipment inside the roof/loft space and run and connect this equipment to the house main consumer unit usually near the front door or under the stairs.
- Solar panels are designed to withstand tough environmental conditions but if they do require maintenance and/or repair the investor(s) will cover these costs.
- As part of the free solar PV offer you will benefit from the electricity that your panels generate. Our investor(s) will claim and keep the Clean Energy Cashback (Feed-in Tariff).
- The investor that best meets your requirements will be chosen from our carefully selected panel of investors.''

In particular the observation that installing PV could improve the energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of the building?0 -
Following on the from the discussions about how much of the output you can use yourself...
We are both at home all week during the day, so we can make a reasonable stab at making maximum usage. I've just got my first full quarter's (December to March) electricity bill since the system was installed so I can make a good 1:1 comparison. The following are normalised to give an exact 13 week count in both years:
Last year: 2021 units
This year: 1273 units
So, one quarter's saving of: 748 units = 33.3% = £87.80
I'm delighted with that. Or at least I would be if I'd generated that many units in that time! It appears as though I've saved every unit I've generated during that time and exported nothing. Complicated isn't it?4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -
Orrery, do you have a digital supply meter? Or one that can run backwards?
What was your generation during the same period? Your comment implies generation was also 748kWh?Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0 -
I only got 524 in that quarter, so although 748 is possible, I think it is unlikely especially with a SE facing array, and with such a small slope (for that time of year)17 Sharp Panels. of 230 watts (3.91 KW)

Metering is fine. My first impression was that there had been no changes other than solar during the year, but the install of solar has made me make a few changes like putting in more LED lighting. I can't really explain the high level of savings at all, but the similarity of the generation numbers are pure co-incidence. All very odd, but long may it continue!4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0
