Roughly 40 degrees.
Yep, as I suspected - that's good for this time of year. Mine's down at 20 degrees - not good for the low sun.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0 -
I've had a cold call this week from a guy at Energy Reduction UK (www . energyreductionuk . com) who have offered to install FREE solar panels. Has anyone dealt with this company or have any experience of them?
Their website is a bit concerning to me and states they are trading as Energy Reduction Surveying Limited.
 cheers for anyone with help!

Anyone know which month's inflation figure is used for the FIT tariff index linking (for the 2012/13 tax year)? [STRIKE]And which inflation measure is used (RPI or CPI)?[/STRIKE] Looks like it is RPI not CPI that's used for the index linking.Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0

It's nice to see our name here, thank you danik69, are you a customer?
Anyway, I'd be VERY, VERY wary of any 'free solar' offer. Some of the contracts I've seen are both long and onerous. The whole concept of 'free' solar for the domestic market is iffy, with recent appearances on Watchdog. Advice on any solar installation would be to only deal with companies that you can get personal recommendations from other for. Forums like YouGen.co.uk are great, independent and well known, and of course ask to speak to a customer, if a company can't do that you have to worry! Also check accreditations and insurances, and have a quick check at Companies House, plenty of fly by nights out there after your money!!0 -
Elsewhere on the forum it has been said that an update to a PV system within the first year is considered to be an extension to the system and qualify for FITs at the old rate - such as install a small system before April 2011 and enlarge it to 4kWp after April 2011 but within one year of the initial install and you will qualify for FITs on the entire system at the same rate as the pre-April install.
Recently my neighbour ordered a 16 panel system and was promised an install and registration before the December 12th cut-off. Last week they turned up and installed 4 panels plus inverter, generation meter etc. The installers left, presumably to install another system at another address. It looks as if they are registering the minimal systems in as many places as possible and then extending them after December 12th, (but within the 12 month allowed period).
I wonder if they will get away with this.
