I can't remember the last time I was debt-free unfortunately.
My long term plan is to be debt-free, mortgage-free, cash rich.
At that point I am going to cancel all my direct debits and pay for everything either in advance (TV Licence/Council Tax etc) and the rest of the bills when I get them.
I know you can save a few quid per year by direct debit, but I hate seeing all these things come out of my bank and not get any satisfaction from physically paying them and not know how much "actual balance" I have in my account at any one time thanks to variable direct debits etc.
I Can't wait for the day I am standing in your shoes. :T
Congratulations once again, we need more stories like this..... :A0 -

Time to change my attitudes towards money, its maths, not magic. If I can't afford it, I cant have it. Simples.
Goal 1: Clear debts
Goal 2: Learn how to save
