Or similar wide necked bottle/jar. Must have a capacity of 4 litres or more. Any idea where I could get one and what sort of price they fetch?

You could try asking for an old pickled egg/onion bottle from a local chip shop0

That's not a bad idea. Cheers.0

I got a big nigella one filled with boiled sweets last year at TK Maxx. Think it was about £6.00Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

How big was it? Was it made of glass or plastic?
Full of sweets, eh? Hmmm....0 -
It was glass and I would say about 3 litres in capacity.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

I used to work in a confectionery/ tobacconist shop.
They had those glass jars that had the loose sweets.
When the jars were empty, they were sent back to the wholesaler who gave a credit of ??p per jar. I can't remember how much.
I know that most are plastic nowadays bit it may be worth asking in your local shop if they still have any and offer to pay whatever it is they get for the jar.
It's a long shot but worth a try.I wish you......
