help to ease burniing with shingles

please does anyone have any surggestions to ease the burning and sensitivity from shingles.its so painful.ive finished the course of anti-viral,so spots are drying up,but cant sleep or stop the burning even after taking painkillers.

Ouch, sounds sore! You could try a good quality aloe vera gel. Aloe vera is great at relieving burning, itching and irritation. You should be able to pick some up from the highstreet (places like Holland & Barrett ), but try and get 100% aloe if you can. Also a gel is better than a cream - keep in the fridge so it is nice and cold when you apply and keep applying as frequently as needed.

This is not medical advice but just my own experiences from having shingles. I found it helped most to have nothing on it. Mine were on my lower back so I was able to pull my trousers down lower and have it exposed to the air. any fabric on it hurt lots and even the duvet at night was very sore.
