Toymaster stores

Ive scanned the threads and cant see any other reference to this but I was shopping in Burton today and went to Toymaster for a quick look before getting back to the car.
All over the windows were huge 50% off notices. It was chaos inside but still quite a lot of stock left . And yes everything was 50% off -all good quality,brand-named toys. I got several Playmobil sets and a big fire engine for a toddler - princely sum of £22.97! Well chuffed - but it could have been better if I had longer to look...hey ho -more for someone else. Nothing on the site to say if its nationwide but I assume it must be as they are closing down.
Happy hunting

The toymaster you refer to in "Burton" is that the one in the Octagon Centre, Burton On Trent, we shop there most Saturdays, so if it is, I hope they have something left

hi, to clear something up.. i used to work at a toymasters. They are franchises not chains. so if one shuts down it doesnt mean they are all going to. BUT they will probably close if a branch of a toy shop opens near them that is a chain and no a franchise. like the entertainer as they simply cannot compete. mm x

Miss Money is correct, Toymasters are franchised. I worked in one in staffordshire, they owned 3. All 3 closed at the beginning of the year after the owner retired.

Unfortunately, these little shops just cant compete with the likes of Argos and Toys R Us :(

I just looked at my receipt which has a notice on the bottom from some Administrators. It states that they are acting for TM Kingdom ltd .TM Kingdom is an offshoot of Toymasters and therefore it is only this part which is having trouble.
Im happy about that as Toymaster is one of the few remaining 'proper' toy shops left.

And Yes Dave T -I did mean Burton -upon -Trent.We tend to contract the name in these parts (Derby).Sorry
