Complaining to Ombudsman re:Lloyds TSB

Hi everyone
Ever since I took out my mortgage with above it has been a catalogue of disasters. The final straw was when (last year) i was buying my ex out of my house - went to get additional borrowing, wasn't told that the whle mortgage would be shut down, all borrowing redone, not enough extra borrowed to cover fees they then charged for early repayment (which had to harass for refund), no statement last year (ex told them my address had changed and they didn't check even tho am at address where mortgage for, and he then found how much I'd overpaid), no statement for majority of this year as they allege because mortgage 'new' there is no record of this etc etc etc. This is on top of past messes they've made (swapping interest rates of wrong accounts, not telling about fees, not releasing funds on agreed days etc!)
Anyway, having asked them to investigate this as I'm still not confident in any of their paperwork, and I want a record of what I've paid towards mortgage I am still waiting 8 weeks later. I sent further complaint after 4 weeks, and have now received letter saying still investigating, but as they've taken more than 8 weeks I can go to ombudsman. I really just want an explanation as to why every dealing I have had with them across last 8 years has been a disaster! Am I just unlucky or are they really that incompetent? And what would going to ombudsman achieve? Surely the paper trail they have should be enough for them to come back with a response within 8 weeks?
Thanks! (sorry for rant!)

Brokers never used them very much. I wonder why ?
Yours is a complex case, i would phone them up and aske to speak to somebody who deals with 'Compliance' They should then be able to give you some answers. Book and afternoon off as you will be on the Music for a while. Sorry cant be of more help but Lloyds imo arent very good.I am a Mortgage Advisor. Is this Scotland?
If not, we're talking about C&G.
If you've already made a complaint, I'd let them complete the investigation and come back to you with a final response before you involve the FOS.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks! It is in Scotland. Just feel like it's been one thing after another with them, with nothing ever being properly sorted. Will take advice and wait til they come back with their findings. Cheers for help.0

Kay - a tip for you. When complaining use clear and spaced apart bullet points. I say this as your single paragraph makes for soupy reading! Giving clear cool conscise listed points makes life very much easier and REDUCES the likelyhood of further erros as end readers can more easily make sense.
Not a crit by me, just a hint is all.0 -
Ha ha! I know, I was on a rambling rant! Thanks :-)0
