LIDL - Half Price Fruit and Veg all of it!!

Lidl are currently selling all of their fruit and veg at half their usual cheap price!! They did this last year just before Christmas and I got all our fruit and veg from their for the Christmas dinner for under a tenner, which I was pretty chuffed with!

Example of their prices avocado - 34p, baby leaf spinach 49p whole cucumber 29p - actually saw a chinese couple buying a couple of boxes of cucumbers and lettuce - presumably for their crispy duck!!

Other bargains that they have been selling recently include frozen prawns - very tasty at £1.99 down from £2.99 they actually have flavour unlike youngs etc!!

Possibly my best buy was a Multiformat Div x DVD player with card reader and even a USB port, it even has volume control on the remote - for the absolute bargain price of £29.99 - I am well chuffed as it comes with a 3 yr manufacturers warranty - take that Sony!! Hope this helps some money savers!!

I agree, their frozen prawn is really lovely - large & meaty as well. Last few weeks they also have lobsters (£4.99), crabs (£2.99) and langoustines so I stocked up our freezer and they are so nice. (there are also some ducks & venisons, I think, but we did not get any). I haven't been back there since so don't know if they still have them?.

Probably will pop in to get some fruit and veg tomorrow anyway but really have to go there early as at my local store they always ran out in the afternoon , may be that chinese couple already bought the whole crate

If anyone is going to Lidl tonight or tomorrow, can you find out if they will be having a delivery of fresh fruit and veg Sunday (christmas eve) or will I have to go first thing Saturday.

Lidl's have actually being offering half price fruit & veg every 2 or 3 weeks for some months now, so it's always worth checking out their prices. The store I use places big stickers on the windows to announce the half price offer, which is great because it means I don't miss it & it's not always mentioned in the weekly leaflet they produce.

The fruit and veg offer is always regional, our region seems to have the 1/2 price offer less often then some other regions from my reading of forums.

Our stores don't have 1/2 price at the moment and in previous years if they were running the offer before Christmas they would stop it 2 weeks before so it is good they put it on in you region specially for Christmas.

Credit card acceptance is another strange one - our accept credit cards but I tried using mine in a store in a different part of the UK and they said they don't take them.
