I left home at 18 and stood on my own two feet. Saved up for everything I wanted, never had a loan or an overdraft. I always wanted to pay my own way in life, spend my own money which I earnt, not anyone elses.

Where did I say that borrowing money for a holiday is the way to do it. Geez

Someone asked why he wanted a grand and I simply said to spend on Alcohol. you acted as if it was a personal attack on you. Feel free to tell everyone your story though

You asked 'did you not go on holiday at that age'. I replied saying I saved up and paid for everything. Illustrating to the Op that saving is an option.

No one is exactly helping him, although I have no suggestions. But if he wants to go on holiday then let him. Some of my mates went uni just to get drunk and ran up debts. Stop being so uptight people :)
