Building society incompetence

I have posted a couple of other threads re my current application for a shared ownership mortgage.
I called today to chase up the mortgage offer and was told that it had been keyed in incorrectly by their processing team so they have had to resubmit the whole application and give it a new account number.
All the information is still valid, credit check, valuation etc but it will now take longer still to get the mortgage offer.
I can't understand how they have made this mistake but apparently they input it as a standard mortgage not shared ownership. The product I applied for was a shared ownership mortgage, I had to include approval letters from the housing association and the valuation clearly states shared ownership.

I am really fed up with this situation and can't believe they could be so unprofessional.
I am supposed to complete in 3 weeks but still can't be 100% sure the mortgage will be offered.

So they made a mistake. Not ideal I know but it happens.
Have you asked if your intended completion date is still viable?

This isn't the first mistake that they have made though, just silly things like sending out letters asking for documents they have already acknowledged receipt of or emails asking if I still intend to apply when I already have. It just seems a real case of the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
They can't say 100% that it will be offered until the underwriter looks at it and so my solicitor has not begun the searches.
